Recently I screwed my computer by knocking the power plug and I had to reinstall Windows Vista 64bit. Now that I have finished reinstalling it I do not know how to connect it back up to the internet through a router that is about 30cm away from it.
It was connected to this router via ethernet cable and the router is still hooked up to the internet as I am using it right now.
When I try to find a network/connection I get a message saying no networks have been found. When I try and 'Diagnose and Repair', it says something along the lines of 'problem with realtach drivers bla bla'.
So what do I have to do after reinstalling Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit to connect it back to the internet? How do I reconnect my desktop to the internet after reinstalling windows?

Find your reinstallation CD / utilities CD that came with your computer. Specifically it should have the drivers that were installed on the computer from the factory. You need to reload these drivers so your computer can recognize the modem, and connect to the internet.
If you dont have the CD, find out what kind of ethernet card / modem you have in your computer, then go to the associated companies website on another computer, download the driver on a thumbdrive or flash drive, then plug into your computer and load it up. Should be cake from there. Good luck
You need to reinstall the drivers for your router, go to your Control Panel %26gt; Device Manager %26gt; Network Adapters - if the icon has some mark like an exclamation point or something it means your driver is not installed if you have the disk just pop it in your cd drive and do the manual install.
i hope this helps,

check ur lan network driver , and then check if the cable led in ur laptop is on or not , if it is off check the cable , if it is on then check ur ip address and subnetmask and ur default gateway and proffered to make it automatic to get and ip and subnetmask and default gateway on it own from the dhcp in the router.
and u will be back online again .
hope i helped here and have a nice day :)
Realtech is the manufacturer of the modem on your motherboard, and you need the drivers for that. Find out what manufacturer your motherboard is and download the drivers for it, like the Suzuki Motorcylcle Man (the onw who is flying) said to do.
