You have to go on the website of your laptop maker and download the driver for your network card. I could tell you what driver to download if you said the exact model/name of your laptop.
edit: http://support.dell.com/support/download鈥?/a>
click on the ';network'; drop down menu. download the driver for the network card you have. you can go to device manager and find this information out (you would probably have to search for device manager in the start menu search cause it's not easy to find otherwise)How do I reinstall my Network card driver so I can run my laptop wireless?
If you can鈥檛 find the right drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Perform a free driver scan at:

Also, you can get the driver from their official sites:
http://www.ethernet.com
download network drivers using model no and install it.

How do you disable the old wireless network when setting up a new wireless access point?
I have a Thompson wireless modem/router and it has a very poor range. I am planning on buying a wireless access point to boost the range. I was reading about how to install them and it says you have to disable the old router from broadcasting the network so the access point can do it. How do you disable the network? How do you disable the old wireless network when setting up a new wireless access point?
Don't know your specific router but this is done by turning off the broadcast SSID option in the router which announces it's presence. How do you disable the old wireless network when setting up a new wireless access point?
You have to log into Thompson router and disable the wireless. Turning off the SSID only, will still allow it to broadcast a signal, conflicting with the new wireless router/Access Point (AP).
If you cannot turn off the wireless on the original router, simply set the new AP to a different channel. Most wireless AP use channel 6. Try channel 1 or 11 with the new AP, and test your internet speed.

How do I set up a wireless network btwn laptops without router using XP and Vista?
One laptop has XP. One has Vista. Although both detect wireless networks in the vicinity, neither picks up the other. Have tried the network wizard on both systems without success. Found that XP didnt have Link layer topology discovery responder so downloaded that. Any suggestions for downloads or updates to fix this issue? Has anyone else had similar situation with an easy fix?How do I set up a wireless network btwn laptops without router using XP and Vista?
ad-hoc wireless networking should work... although, I've not used vista for this yet... but something to try anyways.

How do I create a home wireless network to share my secure wifi internet connection?
My PC is connected to a secure wifi network (for which I pay monthly rental) that identifies IP addresses via a USB wireless adapter. I want to create a home wireless network so that I can share this Internet on My handheld device and laptop. How do I create a home wireless network to share my secure wifi internet connection?
if ther is a physical router then just use the same user and pass if you can if not of can not then follow the bellow
get a store bought wireless usb stick
install it
set it up to a-havic mode and make a wireless network
then go into network connections and right click on the wireless that is used for internet and select properties
in the advanced tab click share this network connection and follow the results to share with the usb wireless
now connect your laptop with that and it should work fineHow do I create a home wireless network to share my secure wifi internet connection?
If you have the network key, then the same key should work for other devices too.
It sounds like you need a 3G router.
...WHO is your ISP...they will best help you...otherwise...if you are connected to the wireless network...you already have the ';WIRELESS NETWORK NAME'; or also known as ';SSID';...and then to connect to it you will need to have the correct ';WIRELESS NETWORK KEY'; or ';WEP KEY';(it just means password for your wireless network)...with that...your handheld device and laptop WILL be able to connect as your computer is able to already connect to the wireless network...then all you would need to do is connect your laptop and wireless device...the wireless network is already connected as you are CONNECTED to it with your PC...
If you mean the provider supplies the wireless signal direct, this is not ideal for sharing. The only way is to set up a second network card in the connected machine. Then set up internet connection sharing on the wireless connection. Use the Network connection wizard for this. Then all other machines connect through the main machine. A router will NOT work with such a service.
Brandon's answer was probably the best, but lacked some detail if you haven't heard of a 3G router.
There are routers out there that will take a 3G wireless USB modem and give you a standard local wifi signal, the same as you would have if you used DSL/Cable/etc.
Here is an example, but do your research, there are many models to choose from:

Buy a wirelss router (like a Belkin brand or similar), you can plug it into your 'rental' which you likely are renting from your cable company or phone company. You can plug multiple ethernet devices into it (such as your PC) AND you can access the wireless network with any of your WiFi devices. The wireless router that you purchase will come with step by step instructions as well as a CD with an automatic installation wizard program. It's very easy, try it.
Follow the instruction on the link below, its step by step howto on setting up secured wireless network

How do I add a computer BACK into the home network after being disconnected and repaired?
The computer was the primary member of a home network of 3 computers in total and had the printers and scanner connected to it.
It was disconnected and Windows XP re installed, now I need to put it back into the network as the primary computer.
The basic instructions for setting up a network are not all that clear OR maybe I have to start from scratch with ALL 3 computers? How do I add a computer BACK into the home network after being disconnected and repaired?
I'm assuming you have a router and it automatically assigns IP addresses. If it does not, get a hold of the geek that set the system up the first time.
On the computer, open network connections and right click on the LAN icon.
Goto properties and select TCP/IP in the popup
click properties
make sure that the radio button ';obtain IP address automatically is selected. If not select it
Now connect the computer to the router using an Ethernet patch cord
Got to start%26gt;run%26gt;type in ';cmd'; and press enter
you get a DOS window
enter ipcofig /all
verify you have an IP address
you should now be able to access the internet
now install the printer and scanner using the install disks
If you want to share the printer, enable sharing and set them up on the other machines

How can I enable a windows home network to recognise a PS3 and transfer files and vice versa?
I have a home network using 3 PC's running windows XP. I also have a PS3 which accesses the internet perfectly on the same network, but i cannot send video files for example to the PS3. My McAfee security software recognises the PS3's presence but that's it. Are there hidden firewalls perhaps? Appreciate any guidance. Thanks. How can I enable a windows home network to recognise a PS3 and transfer files and vice versa?
