HERE is how. Go to your profile, click edit profile, then click on the pencil looking then next to information(under picture), and then click on the network part
if it is a regional network, facebook is phasing them out anyway!

  • How do you automatically connect to a specific network on sony vaio laptop?

I own a new sony vaio laptop, and initially, whenever I selected a network to connect to, I was given the option to automatically connect to that specific network. Now, I am no longer given the option to automatically connect without doing it manually. Is there anyway I can get the option back? How do you automatically connect to a specific network on sony vaio laptop?
Right click on the wireless computer icon down in the right hand corner of the screen Choose ';View Available Wireless Networks'; - left hand side of dialog box - ';change order of preferred Networks'; - eliminate all other networks but the one you want to automatically connect to.

How do I add security to my wireless network?

I have an existing wireless router that pops up listed as %26lt;default%26gt; with no security. My neighbors' networks pop up with their household name and ';security enabled';. How do I convert mine to a secured network without changing existing connections already using it?How do I add security to my wireless network?
    Wireless Router settings:

In a browser address bar, type 192.168.X.X (look in user manual for exact address for administration interface address) %26amp; find the Settings for Security (or similar):

Set for WPA (or WPA2 if your computers support this level) %26amp; AES.

(Use WEP only as a last resort: it's apprentice work to crack).

    Also;

    Turn off 'SSID' broadcast;

Disable: UPnP %26amp; QoS (unless using VoIP or gaming),

Enable: Router management username %26amp; bulletproof passphrase (not the same as Internet access password, which would be the PSK (pre-shared key)).

PSK's should be over 7 characters; letters %26amp; numbers (mixed), not words.

Put this # on tape %26amp; put on the top of the router for easy access.

Note: Mac address filtering will prevent freeloaders, but will not deter committed hackers. Mac addresses are on the front end of packets, therefore un-encrypted %26amp; easily copied and used to 'spoof' packets; enabling a 'man in the middle' attacks.

You might want to also set (in 'Connections') as 'always connected' to prevent disconnects when there is no activity to or from the Internet.

    Computer settings:

If you're using Windows to configure your Wifi, go to Control Panel%26gt; Wireless Network Connections%26gt; Wireless Networks tab; here you'll need to identify all wifi networks your system 'sees', then for your own (or preferred) network, highlight it, then 'move up' to the top of the list: then, go to 'Advanced' button, tick 'access points only' and uncheck 'Automatically connect to non-preferred networks'%26gt;close%26gt; OKHow do I add security to my wireless network?
    Norton Anti Virus

    Firewall

    Firefox

    Godzilla

    X-Press
You need to set up the encryption in the security settings on the router interface page. Read your router manual.
Isy is a retard. Blamay or wtvr is smart.

Set up a password, and encryption for your data. Look either in your routers manual or on the internet.

How do you change your network password?

My neighbors figured out the password to my network so now they always use my internet connection whenever they need to use their Itouch. How do i change it?How do you change your network password?
I am assuming that it is a Wireless Network Connection.

On a Linksys network router, the exact steps may vary depending on the model of router you are using.

    1) Log in to the admin console using a browser like IE or Firefox. Use your current password and username. Linksys routers typically use http://192.168.1.1 as ';le pro d'; said.

When successfully logged in, you should see a setup or configurations screen.

    2) Locate the Administration/Security area and look for the area that allows for password changes.

    3) Type in your new password (generally two times to confirm) and choose change/ok/etc (whatever it says to allow the change)

A few words of advise on choosing passwords:

    1) NEVER use names, especially of people who may be known by more than yourself.

    2) NEVER use birthdates or combinations of those because they are easy to figure out especially if someone else knows the birthdates of members of your household.

    3) If possible, use Alpha/Numeric passwords (passwords containing both letters AND numbers) and make the letters a combination of upper and lower case: An example would be a2B3c4D5efG6

    4) NEVER store passwords in a text or document ON your computer unless they are inside a password keeper program such as KeePass or RoboForm. Hackers can find passes if they are stored in open, unencrypted form. How do you change your network password?
You do it by accessing your router admin page : usually by defaut , it's either http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.1.1/ from your browser and then enter the access username and password usually admin and 1234 are default for most major brands. once logged in search for the passkey section in the wireless settings page and that's about it.

You have to go on the website of your laptop maker and download the driver for your network card. I could tell you what driver to download if you said the exact model/name of your laptop.

    edit: http://support.dell.com/support/download鈥?/a>

click on the ';network'; drop down menu. download the driver for the network card you have. you can go to device manager and find this information out (you would probably have to search for device manager in the start menu search cause it's not easy to find otherwise)How do I reinstall my Network card driver so I can run my laptop wireless?
If you can鈥檛 find the right drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Perform a free driver scan at:

    http://www.best-driver-updater.com/drive鈥?/a>

Also, you can get the driver from their official sites:

    http://www.ethernet.com
download network drivers using model no and install it.

How do you disable the old wireless network when setting up a new wireless access point?

I have a Thompson wireless modem/router and it has a very poor range. I am planning on buying a wireless access point to boost the range. I was reading about how to install them and it says you have to disable the old router from broadcasting the network so the access point can do it. How do you disable the network? How do you disable the old wireless network when setting up a new wireless access point?
Don't know your specific router but this is done by turning off the broadcast SSID option in the router which announces it's presence. How do you disable the old wireless network when setting up a new wireless access point?
You have to log into Thompson router and disable the wireless. Turning off the SSID only, will still allow it to broadcast a signal, conflicting with the new wireless router/Access Point (AP).

If you cannot turn off the wireless on the original router, simply set the new AP to a different channel. Most wireless AP use channel 6. Try channel 1 or 11 with the new AP, and test your internet speed.
